Tablecloth Millenium damask

  • Description:

Visual artist Peter Struycken designed in 1999, commissioned by the Textile Museum in Tilburg, the Millennium damask. The damask has a pattern of flashy sharp points. Eleven years earlier, Peter Struycken discovered working with textiles and machinery. In 1988 he designed the monumental work "Esman 1”, on a fifty years old Jacquard loom. In 1989 he designed a damask "Ambaum", performed on the Zangs-Jacquard loom. With a minimum of technical possibilities he succeeded a beautiful damask with a continuous pattern design. The advent of the computer-Dornier-loom in 1999 opened new possibilities for Peter Struycken. In collaboration with the product developers of the museum he accomplished many wonderful work. Including 6 napkins. Each tablecloth comes in a lovely gift box.
