Tablecloth The miraculous catch | damask set Marc Mulders
Description:
Dutch artist Marc Mulders designed in 2002 commissioned by the Textile Museum the damask tablecloth entitled: "The miraculous catch". Marc Mulders well known for his large canvases with patterns of thick, loose brushstrokes and motifs such as flowers, fish or butterflies but also religious references in his work can be found. This tablecloth is made of Mulders collage technique. From photographs of the interiors of cathedrals (such as the St. Jan in Den Bosch) he tore fish, and attached religious figures to it, like a picture of the English painter Francis Bacon. Referring to the biblical parable, he gave his table set the title "The miraculous catch". Including 6 napkins. Each tablecloth comes in a lovely gift box.
