Tablecloth Brabants Bont blue | damask set Anne-Marie Jetten

Description:
Blue damask set named “Brabants Bont” woven in the Textile Museum in Tilburg. This tablecloth is designed by Anne-Marie Jetten of Hollandsche Waaren. Traditionally, the VOC travelled with porcelain around the world, and brought painted porcelain to Delft where potters gave their own interpretation of Chinese blue and white decorations: the now famous Delft Blue. Scenes such as crafts, flowers, portraits and scenery were painted on vases, bowls and tableware. From this technique were new designs and colours formed, including the famous “Boerenbont”: a service directly from the Dutch 19th century countryside: sober and simple, without frills and solid shapes in basic colours green, blue and red. Inspired by these traditional forms of Brabant motifs are the tea towels, tablecloths and matching napkins arise as “Brabants Bont”. Including 6 napkins. Each tablecloth comes in a lovely gift box.
